The 138th Canton Fair

The first phase of the 138th Canton Fair concluded on October 19th. Themed "Advanced Manufacturing," this phase featured over 25,000 booths and

approximately 12,000 participating companies. As of the 19th, a total of 157,900 overseas buyers from 222 countries and regions participated offline,

representing a 6.3% increase compared to the previous phase.

This was an extraordinary Canton Fair. Just on October 18th, China and the United States agreed to hold a new round of trade consultations as soon

as possible. For companies doing global business, the Canton Fair has long been a crucial platform for seeking future certainty. With over 10,000

high-quality companies participating for the first time and the first-ever use of AI-powered exhibition tours, this year's Canton Fair presented

global buyers with a trade feast showcasing new productivity and intelligent manufacturing.

During the Canton Fair, the 3rd China (Guangdong Yunfu)-RCEP Industry Cooperation Conference and the 2025 (Autumn) First Guangzhou International

Automotive Industry Export Exhibition were also held. These events provide global businesses with opportunities and diverse experiences, while also

offering a platform for Chinese companies to "go global" and helping "Made in Guangdong" continue to climb the global value chain.

According to data from the Canton Fair, the number of high-quality enterprises with qualifications such as high-tech enterprises, specialized and innovative

enterprises, and single-item champions among the exhibitors this year exceeded 10,000 for the first time, setting a new record. Pre-exhibition surveys

indicated that over 1 million new products developed within the past year were expected to be showcased, along with nearly 1.1 million products with

independent intellectual property rights. Nearly 800,000 new products were making their Canton Fair debut, fully demonstrating the innovative vitality

and intellectual property achievements of "Made in China."

According to data from the General Administration of Customs, in the first three quarters of this year, my country's exports trended towards new and

high-quality products. my country's exports of electromechanical products reached 12.07 trillion yuan, an increase of 9.6%, accounting for 60.5% of 

total exports, an increase of 1.4 percentage points. Among them, exports of high-tech products such as electronic information, high-end equipment,

and instruments and meters increased by 8.1%, 22.4%, and 15.2% respectively; the growth rates of "new three types" products (referring to new

energy vehicles, new industrial vehicles, and new energy products) and green products such as railway electric locomotives all reached double digits.

Wang Zhihua, Director-General of the Department of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Commerce, stated at a recent press conference that as a window,

microcosm, and symbol of China's opening up to the outside world, the Canton Fair has continuously contributed to the high-quality development 

of foreign trade in recent years, injecting strong momentum into the cultivation of new drivers of foreign trade growth. This year's Canton Fair is

no exception, showcasing new highlights and manifestations in supporting the "innovation," "intelligence," and "green" development of foreign trade.

Furthermore, the Canton Fair offers a rich array of supporting activities, covering diverse themes such as industry forums, new product launches, and

matchmaking events for high-quality foreign trade products to expand into the domestic market, helping enterprises understand industry trends,

showcase their innovative capabilities, and expand their domestic sales markets.
